I love using technology in my classroom when it enhances your lessons and increases the students' learning. I was asked to share information on Kahoot and one other thing to use. I could not think of just one thing, so I merged several into this post.
Kahoot is one of my favorite uses of technology. It is interactive, engaging and very useful. You can easily make your own or you can do a search of the 1000's of quizzes already made and you can just use it or edit it to meet your needs.
Animoto is an easy way to share pictures and information, for class or for personal use. Once you have signed up be sure to apply for an educators account so you can sign student's up too.
Canva is a cool place to make magazines, posters, and lots of other things for students to use to share knowledge. This is much cooler than just a powerpoint.
Haiku Deck is another very easy choice for students to share their learning. One thing about Haiku Deck is that all pictures are self contained and there is no searching the web, no worrying about copyright or any other issues.
Toon Doo is a fun and creative way to allow students to tell stories or share information.
Storytelling in class is very important in all classrooms not just English. Every teacher should be teaching reading and writing. Here are a few good places to allow students to tell stories.
